A large machinery manufacturing company in Bolton is hiring for this role. You will design mechanical components, tooling, fixtures and prototypes, then machine and test them yourself. The role also improves manufacturing processes and factory equipment layouts.
What you'll do
- Design mechanical components, tooling, fixtures and prototypes
- Machine, test and refine your designs using manual machine tools
- Work with engineers and suppliers to resolve technical challenges
- Improve manufacturing processes

What you bring
- Engineering background in manufacturing or mechanical design
- Hands-on skill with manual machine tools
- Ability to take a design from concept through prototype and testing
- Comfort working with engineers and suppliers to solve technical problems
