About the role
A large machinery manufacturing company in Bolton is hiring for this role. You will design mechanical components, tooling, fixtures and prototypes, and develop manufacturing solutions that balance manufacturability, safety, quality and cost. You will also work hands-on, machining and testing your own designs.
What you'll do
- Design mechanical components, tooling, fixtures and prototypes using CAD, FEA and GD&T
- Machine, test and refine your designs personally
- Maintain tooling so it stays in working condition
- Collaborate with colleagues on engineering challenges
- Improve manufacturing processes and equipment layouts
What you bring
- Experience designing mechanical components, tooling and fixtures
- Working knowledge of CAD, FEA and GD&T
- Hands-on machining and testing skills
- An eye for manufacturability, safety, quality and cost
