About the role
A large machinery manufacturing company in Bolton is hiring for this role. You will design mechanical components, tooling, fixtures and prototypes, then machine and test them yourself. You will also work to resolve manufacturing challenges and improve how the factory runs.
What you'll do
- Design mechanical components, tooling, fixtures and manufacturing solutions.
- Build prototypes and machine parts using manual machine tools.
- Test and refine your designs until they perform on the floor.
- Collaborate with engineers and suppliers to resolve manufacturing challenges.
- Improve processes and optimize factory equipment layouts.
What you bring
- Experience designing mechanical components, tooling and fixtures.
- Hands-on skill with manual machine tools.
- Ability to test and refine prototypes and designs.
- Comfort working with engineers and suppliers to solve problems.
