About the role
A large machinery manufacturing company in Bolton is hiring for this role. You will design mechanical components, tooling, fixtures and manufacturing solutions that keep production safe, high quality and cost efficient. You will also work hands-on, machining and testing your own designs.
What you'll do
- Design mechanical components, tooling, fixtures and prototypes using CAD and FEA.
- Apply engineering principles to ensure safety, quality, manufacturability and cost efficiency.
- Machine, test and refine your designs yourself.
- Maintain tooling and troubleshoot production challenges.
- Contribute to equipment layout and process improvements.
What you bring
- Experience designing mechanical components, tooling and fixtures.
- Working knowledge of CAD and FEA.
- Comfort machining and testing your own prototypes.
- Practical problem-solving skills for production issues.
