About the role
A mid-sized oil and gas company in Halifax is hiring for this role. You will own core corporate accounting work, from journal entries and general ledger reconciliations to financial statements, on a 14-month term. You will also make sure the SOX controls assigned to you are performed.
What you'll do
- Prepare journal entries and maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Produce financial statements and analyze financial results.
- Perform your assigned SOX controls.
- Support audits, forecasts, budgets, regulatory reports and tax filings.
- Work with other departments on financial information and ad hoc analysis.
What you bring
- Senior-level corporate accounting experience.
- Solid command of general ledger maintenance, reconciliations and month-end reporting.
- Familiarity with SOX controls and how they are performed.
- Experience supporting audits, budgets, forecasts and tax or regulatory filings.
- Clear communication with colleagues outside finance.
