About the role
A large defense and space manufacturing company in Waterdown is hiring for this role. You will lead and mentor an engineering operations team and set the strategy and roadmap for the company's engineering platforms. The role exists to keep those platforms, and the way engineers work with them, improving over time.
What you'll do
- Lead and mentor the engineering operations team.
- Set the strategy, roadmap and implementation plan for engineering platforms, including AI tools, DevOps, engineering applications and reporting systems.
- Drive continuous improvement across those platforms and the practices around them.
- Partner with engineering leadership, IT, vendors and other functions to deliver projects.
- Establish effective operating practices and report on team performance.
What you bring
- Experience leading and mentoring a team in an engineering operations or similar setting.
- Background setting strategy and roadmaps for engineering platforms and tools.
- Familiarity with AI tools, DevOps, engineering applications and reporting systems.
- Ability to work with engineering leaders, IT and outside vendors to deliver projects.
