About the role
A large business consulting and services company in Stamford is hiring for this role. You will lead and stabilize the accounting function, owning the close process and the accuracy of financial reporting. You will also manage and develop a team of approximately seven while staying hands-on with the accounting work.
What you'll do
- Lead and stabilize the accounting function during the interim period.
- Manage and develop a team of approximately seven accountants.
- Oversee the close process and make sure financial reporting is accurate.
- Own inventory and cost accounting.
- Provide technical U.S. GAAP guidance to the team and the business.
What you bring
- Experience leading an accounting function and a team.
- Strong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
- Background in inventory and cost accounting.
- Experience improving controls and processes, and supporting audits.
- Willingness to do hands-on accounting work alongside your team.
