About the role
A large truck transportation company in Somerville is hiring for this role. You will lead the Diesel House shift team responsible for locomotive maintenance, repairs, inspections, servicing and cleaning. The role exists to make sure that work meets safety, quality, contractual, regulatory and budget requirements.
What you'll do
- Lead the shift team handling locomotive maintenance, repairs, inspections, servicing and cleaning.
- Manage staffing and set shift priorities.
- Coach employees and coordinate with foremen and other departments.
- Respond to operational disruptions as they arise.
- Implement improvements to operational performance.
What you bring
- Experience leading a shift-based maintenance or production team.
- Working knowledge of safety, quality, contractual and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to manage work against a budget.
- Coaching skills and a collaborative approach with foremen and other departments.
