About the role
A large machinery manufacturing company in Bolton is hiring for this role. You will design mechanical components, tooling and fixtures, then machine and test them yourself. The role exists to solve manufacturing challenges and improve how the factory runs.
What you'll do
- Design mechanical components, tooling, fixtures and prototypes
- Machine, test and refine your designs using manual machine tools
- Develop manufacturing solutions for production challenges
- Work with engineers and suppliers to resolve manufacturing issues and improve processes
- Optimize factory equipment layouts
What you bring
- Experience designing mechanical components, tooling and fixtures
- Hands-on skill with manual machine tools
- Ability to take a design from concept through prototype, testing and refinement
- Comfort collaborating with engineers and suppliers
