About the role
A large insurance company in Markham is hiring for this role. You will own month-end accounting for your assigned business units, from journal entries to reconciliations and financial reports. The work supports the company's financial statements, regulatory reporting and audits.
What you'll do
- Prepare monthly journal entries, working papers and account reconciliations
- Produce financial reports for your assigned business units
- Support financial statements and regulatory reporting
- Take part in budget variance reviews and audits
- Handle accounting research and ad hoc projects
What you bring
- Hands-on experience preparing journal entries, reconciliations and working papers
- Familiarity with financial statement and regulatory reporting
- Comfort supporting audits and budget variance reviews
- Strong research skills and the flexibility to pick up ad hoc projects
